Here at SPCS, we’re always glad to learn about people who served on the Crisisline in years past. Our 45 year history has involved many volunteers, some who still live in Ithaca and work as mental health professionals.  Some of the stories are bitter-sweet.

On Saturday, the City of Ithaca will honor one of our own, David Malcom, a young man who tragically died in 1987 while working at the Red Cross. He had been a member of our team, described as someone who never lost hope or faith in life and used his own insights into the more difficult aspects of the human experience to help others.

We join the City in honoring his spirit and contributions to our community.
